Policy
The NZSA is not, in general, a funding body. Normally funds may be
provided as a float for NZSA or conjoint conferences, and to enable statistics
students to attend NZSA Conferences. Grants may be given from the Campbell
Bequest Fund, and are coordinated by the Awards Committee. The NZSA
sponsors prizes at Science Fairs throughout New Zealand. The NZSA
Executive may at times provide other forms of sponsorship at its own discretion.
Campbell Bequest
Fund
The NZSA were the recipients of a very
generous donation ($48,000) from Professor Campbell’s estate. A group of the
executive met to discuss options for use of this money, and recommended to the
executive that the bequest be invested and interest from this be made available
for special projects. The amount of funding available each year would be roughly
$1500.
Full details
of the fund, its application process and projects it has supported, are given on
the Campbell Bequest Fund page.
